XML
XML stands for 鈥橢xtensible Markup Language鈥. It鈥檚 a system that uses tags to tell a computer what to do with the text. Unlike HTML, XML does not use predefined tags 鈥 instead tags are defined by the author for their specific needs.
XML content is distinct from how it is presented 鈥 meaning that information can be stored, searched for and shared in a standardized format across any system or platform.
XML contains machine-readable metadata, making it highly efficient for search engines and intelligent data mining.
